Aaron Strong - Clinical Supervision

I am a state-approved Clinical Supervisor if you are seeking licensure in the mental health field in the state of Washington. I also continue to provide clinical supervision to graduate students in the Counseling Department at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health, the teaching clinic for Naturopathic Doctors, Acupuncturists, and other practitioners completing their studies at Bastyr University. My approach to supervision is collaborative and supportive; I also encourage you, as a clinician, to explore what feels most natural to you, and to be open to the unique gifts you can bring to your work with clients. As in my own practice, I utilize a broad range of clinical models and techniques to guide and inform the clinician, including cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused and narrative therapy. I am, however, more interested in your own experience of the therapeutic process, and how that awareness might aid the client more effectively towards change and health.

Through my work at Affiliated Mental Health Programs, a private agency in Seattle, I gained extensive experience working with chronic, severe mental illness and Axis II disorders; clinical diagnoses I have experience with include bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression and anxiety disorders, bereavement and adjustment disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. I have a broad knowledge of psychotropic medications, and utilize a network of professionals in the mental health field for consultation, including psychiatrists, clinical social workers, and other psychotherapists and counselors.

Clinical Supervision sessions are billed by the hour, at the reduced rate of $95/hour; if sessions extend beyond 60 minutes, I bill at an hourly prorated rate.
